Type I is a key structural protein and is the most abundant collagen in the body; it is found throughout the skin, bones, tendons and other connective tissues. Type II collagen is found primarily in cartilage and has been studied specifically for joint health. It helps maintain cartilage health and supports joint flexibility and recovery. You can take both type I and type II together to support different aspects of connective tissue. For a deeper dive into the differences between these two collagen types, see our guide: Everything you Need to Know About Type 1 + Type 2 Collagen.
